Nahom Kahsai shared thisI am proud to share on 29th of June I completed my studies at the University of Westminster and I graduated averaging 67% with an upper second class honours(2:1) in BA Business Management (Accounting). My parents sacrificed a lot for me to come to this country and leaving them in Eritrea at the age of 6 was very hard but I know they are proud of me for taking the opportunity to go to university and give myself a better life. With all the ups and downs I have faced I am thankful for all the lessons I’ve learnt and going to university is definitely one of my greatest achievements. I am glad to have made my foster family proud and excited for the future to come. I would like to thank those who provided me with support throughout my journey at the University of Westminster and also to congratulate my peers who I have had lifetime memories with. Despite the challenges presented to us in 2020, we made it through. However, something changed. As much as I love performance marketing, funnels, and strategy… the repetition of the 9–5 stopped being fulfilling. The last 18 months, I have been managing my own clients alongside my 9–5, kind of monkey-barring between the two, always a bit skeptical about going all in. Waking up every day knowing I’d potentially still be doing the exact same thing for another 5 years didn't sit right with me. And that was the switch. In these 30 days, I managed to experience: 1️⃣♟️CEMS Career Forum 2025, hosted by Esade in Barcelona 2️⃣🎓My Bachelor's graduation in Rotterdam 3️⃣⚡Slush in Helsinki And it all went beyond fantastic! ♟️On the Career Forum, I met many many representatives from companies across Europe and explored job opportunities. I got a lot of super interesting insights, especially during the Skill Seminar on Corporate Crisis Management by Christoph Bleiker, and an inspirational speech given by Benjamin Lakatos. 🎓My graduation was full of happy reunions and celebrations. I graduated with cum laude, Honours programme, and a smile on my face. I am thankful to Erasmus University Rotterdam and all my professors for sharing their knowledge with me and enhancing my growth as a person and as a future professional. And of course, I'm thankful to all my friends for making this journey an unforgettable experience, and to my family for always being there for me when needed. ⚡And cherry on top: I volunteered at Slush in the Investor Office Hours team. If you want to experience the true entrepreneurial spirit, you know where to go! This year, SLUSH gathered 6,000 founders, 3,500 investors, and €4 trillion assets under management under one roof, and we were there to make it happen! Sending many hugs to my team (Mayu Nishikawa, Bambi Dang, Roman Turikov, Magrâce Nzoko, Andres Volosyanko and more) and of course Iva H Skojo, MA, Matteus Einiö and Mariia Nedelkina. We rocked! Now, I am slowly wrapping up my CEMS exchange semester at Aalto University and getting ready for my finals. Finland came up to be everything I ever imagined and more! It proudly defended its status as the happiest country. I have learned a lot here, I have lived a lot here, and I have grown a lot, too. Now, we’d love to go even further to help Baytree continue their incredible work. The Baytree Centre supports over 600 women and girls each year, offering education, digital skills training, mentoring and youth programmes that help build confidence and open doors to new opportunities.
